Sierra Leone Association of Persons with Albinism, is a dynamic Sierra Leonean NGO dedicated to promoting the health, safety, and well-being of people with albinism across the country. In partnership with Medical Assistance, Sierra Leone -UK (MASL), enables the involvement of PVF and Altruist Sunscreen in the work of the Association. Hence SLAPWA provides essential resources free of charge—including high-quality sunscreen, protective clothing, sunglasses, hats, and access to a specialized skin clinic for the treatment and removal of lesions. With skin cancer being the leading cause of death among people with albinism—and increasing UV exposure due to ozone depletion—SLAPWA’s work is not only urgent but life-saving.
